I strongly support voting 'yes' to both operating levy questions on the ballot. Passage of both is key to keeping our schools strong and lowering our class sizes. Click here to learn more about this important measure.
Our family is proud to have lived in Roseville for the past 8 years. My wife Becky is an incredible educator in the school district and our two oldest girls attend Emmett D Williams Elementary. Our youngest cannot wait to join her sisters when she begins Kindergarten in 2022.
As a family we love spending time outdoors. In fact, Becky and I first met while working at a summer camp in high school. We also enjoy attending the ever-growing schedule of our girls’ sporting and extra-curricular events…theater, swimming, dance, soccer, gymnastics, basketball and more!
In my career, I have worked the past 15 years as a professional Boy Scout! Yes, that job really exists! In my current role as the Director of Support Services for Northern Star Scouting, I am the team leader for our camping and properties group. This team delivers program annually to 20,000+ school-aged children in our day and overnight operations. We deliver the highest level of outcome-based programming while simultaneously ensuring the health and safety of all participants.
Prior to joining the Scouts, I taught social studies to 9th, 10th and 11th graders. Commitment to a quality education and young people is our way of life.
Becky and I were very deliberate when we chose to make our home here. The world continues to grow more diverse and the success of the next generation depends on their ability to live, play and work with each other. We believe it to be so important for our kids to grow up in a community that values people of different ethnicities, cultures, backgrounds, beliefs and perspectives while also providing the opportunities necessary to level the playing field for all. We are strong supporters of our district’s vision for excellence and equity.
Strong Schools = Strong Kids = Strong Communities
As a parent of three children who are/will attend Roseville Area Schools, I am fully invested in our district’s success. As a parent I will advocate for robust educational and extra-curricular opportunities that will develop all aspects of our children and engage all learners. Doing so will ensure that our communities continue to thrive and attract development.
Commitment to Service – Servant Leadership
As an Eagle Scout, I learned the importance of community service. I also learned that the most powerful leaders are those who give back to others. I believe strongly that it is my responsibility to give back to our community and I know that my skills and experience are a true fit for serving our community on the school board.
Not for Profit Governance/Leadership Experience
As a leader in a not for profit organization, I am already actively engaged in the community board governance model. I understand the fundamentals and am committed to being open and accountable to you and our community interests. I have served in similar roles with the Downtown Minneapolis Kiwanis Club, Kiwanis Foundation and American Camp Association, Northland.
